O V Europa is a registered non-profit association which provides it's members with a wwoof volunteer insurance - third party liability and personal accident, injury and illness insurance suited to volunteer work.
The cost of joining OV Europa is Euro 25.oo including the insurance premium.
The association has been formed to respond to the need for a suitable insurance at a low cost for WWOOF ers whilst staying on WWOOF host farms.

The association was formed by WWOOF Italy and Allianz the ethical insurance company that has been providing WWOOF Italy's member insurance for the past 6 years. It is registered in Italy at the same address as WWOOF Italy and run by the same people.
These two companies are also associations and, as such, provide insurance on an ethical rather than a commercial/shareholder profit basis.

By insuring the association's members as a group rather than single individuals the insurance companies are able to eliminate the cost of paperwork and contracts for individual policies. This results in them being able to provide the insurance cover at a much lower price. This saving is passed on to the associations members in the form of a lower membership fee.
